The Red Dragons have made a flying start to the season, going unbeaten through their opening five games and sitting in first place in League One. In August, they collected 10 points from a possible 12, beating Wycombe, Reading and Peterborough, and last week's win over Shrewsbury saw them climb to the top of the standings.

Wrexham have enjoyed a meteoric rise since the arrival of co-owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds in 2021, but special praise should be reserved for Parkinson as well. He has led the Red Dragons to back-to-back promotions and the club will be eyeing a spot in the Championship after their electrifying start to the new campaign.
WHAT PARKINSON SAID
Parkinson said: "A lot of hard work has gone into it, from pre-season all the way through to the end of that first month. Everyone connected to the club can take great credit for the work that has gone in. It's great to get the award, for myself but more importantly for everybody; the players, and all the staff – and I mean all the staff, because everybody contributes.
"We can congratulate ourselves on it, but it is just the first month of the season and we know that and there's so much more work to be done. But we're really enjoying being in this division. You can sense it – there's a great anticipation on the training ground every day, and a competitive edge in the way we're going about our business."
